Super Busy Day

Auntie Karen came over to my house today and we went for a walk all around my neighborhood. I showed her all the houses and introduced her to some of my friends, she especially liked the little black n white dog, I don't remember her name but she is really cute and little and cuddly. Anyway, after we walked around my neighborhood then we went back to my house and I ate lunch, yummy. Then we got in Auntie Karen's car and went over to her house, YAY! I got to play in the backyard, we played ball for a long time. 

After that we had to go in the house for a while, yucky. Auntie Karen played with the noisy sucker machine, my moms have one of those too, it makes lots of noise and sucks up stuff, I have to keep my toys away from it. After that Lash and I went outside and he showed me all the fun smelly parts of the yard. Lash knows a lot about the yard and where all the good stuff is. We played out there for a while then Auntie Karen took me and Lash for a walk! It was fun, for a little guy that Lash sure can walk fast. We went to the park and walked around then back to Auntie Karen's house.  And guess what? I found a really yummy bone at Auntie Karen's house and she let me carry it the whole time we were walking. After our walk with Lash we brought him home then me and Auntie Karen went for another walk, this time I had to leave my bone at the house. We walked all over the neighborhood, it was lots of fun, Auntie Karen has a lot of dogs in her neighborhood. 

And then after that we went back to the house and I got to chew on the bone out on the deck. Lash came out for little while and tried to take the bone from me but I said no way Jose, you cannot have my bone, finders keepers.  He finally gave up and went back in the house.

Then me and Auntie Karen got in the car again and guess where we went? Back to my house! At first I was a little sad, I like playing at Auntie Karen's but then I was tired and went right into my kennel for a nap.  Auntie Karen said I was a very good girl today, she said "Good Girl" a lot today. 

The only thing I don't like at Auntie Karen's house is that she will not play ball with me in the house. I talked with Lash about it and he said she never plays in the house it's one of the rules. Lash said Auntie Karen does not have a lot of rules but the ones she has are strictly enforced. I just don't understand, playing ball in the house is fun. 

Lash also told me about Taffy a new friend of his, she came over to Auntie Karen's last week. Lash said she was really fun to play with and maybe I can play with her some day. I really hope so.

Auntie Karen's house

Grandma brought me over to Auntie Karen's today and I got to spend the whole afternoon with her and Lash.  We played ball in the backyard but then Auntie Karen spent a really long time with a noisy grass eating thing, it had a really long orange tail.  I did not like it, Auntie Karen walked with it all over the yard and she did not play ball with me very much. I kept giving her the ball and she just did not see it, finally I put it right in front of the noisy grass eating thing then she saw it and threw it for me.  Auntie Karen was really tricky today too, she threw the ball in all different places sometimes it took me a really long time to find it. One time she threw it over by the tomato gardens and I could not find it, I looked in all the regular hiding places but finally she helped me find it, whew that was stressful. Lash even ran around the yard with me, that was fun! He usually doesn't run with me but today he was in a good mood.  He also tried to warn me about the noisy grass eating thing, he said Auntie Karen would ignore me while she is walking with it and he was right. He said Auntie Karen walks that thing around the yard at least once a week and he has never figured out why, it looks boring. 

After Auntie Karen was done walking the grass eating thing she played ball with me again, that was a lot of fun. Then we went into the house for a little while but that was boring, who wants to be in the house when you can play ball outside? After that me and Auntie Karen went to the coffee shop, she doesn't know it but I was driving the car while she was in the coffee shop, well not really driving but I was pretending. She almost caught me too but I was really fast and jumped back over the seat into my space before she got to the car. Then we went back to my house, I did not want to go home but it was nice to be in my own house and eat some kibbles. Auntie Karen stayed with me for a little while then made me go into my kennel, I did not want to go but she can be bossy when she wants to. Auntie Karen does not take any sassiness from me, she used her mom voice and I knew I had to go into the kennel. But that was Ok, I was tired and needed a nap anyway.

A Glimpse at my Life

I'm only 10 month's old and they're makin' me carry my own stuff; what's going to happen when I'm one year, do I have to carry theirs too? 

Now I'm exhausted!

It's Mini Me!

Me and Mini Me, ok, it's really my new friend Peanut but she kinda looks like me and she's a retriever too! A Coconut retriever; I come from a long line of retrievers but never heard of a Coconut retriever. She came from an island someplace, she talks with a funny accent. I'm going to teach her how to play fetch the ball but she's still pretty small, just a little thing. I met her at Auntie Karen's house, I hope I get to go back real soon and play again. I love it at Auntie Karen's. 'cept this time she tricked me and hid my pool. I know exactly where it was and I went to take a dip and it was gone! She said she put it away for winter but I think that's silly, who's winter anyway??? Maybe my moms will take me over there again and Peanut will be there, and Lash will be there and we can all play in the yard, that would be real fun.

My update

I realize I have not written for a long time but I did say I was not gettin' up off that chair.  I finished my agility class, it was a lot of fun! 

But as you can see, my moms think it is more fun to make me look funny!  I don't really need glasses, I just think I'm cute with them.

Ok so the purple monkey costume did not work out, it made my butt look big. I have another audition next week to model doggie beds.  I know I can ace this one, my mom's have been working hard with me on my sits and downs, this is gunna be cake!  Mommy Tara said something about a pumpkin costume too but I don't think I'll look good in orange, I think it will clash with my hair.

Last weekend

I spent last weekend with Auntie Karen, it was soooooo much fun. Auntie Karen picked me up in the morning and we played in the yard all day! Even when it rained except when it really rained hard then we went in the house for a little while.  I got to play with Lash all day and I chased him around the yard.  Now he is smaller than me, he used to be bigger but I'm growing fast. He tries to hide under the steps but I got him. And I chased a pesky rabbit out of the yard, I almost caught it, I'm sure if rabbits had longer tails I would have had it.  But it ran under the fence.... chicken rabbit!  It was hiding in the flower garden and I  know I'm not supposed to go into Auntie Karen's flowers but she threw the ball and it went in the flowers so I had to get it an' the rabbit was in there and I scared it and it scared me so I had to chase it out of the yard.  Auntie Karen said I did a good job.  The rabbits are eating the petunias and we don't like that.  I like to eat the petunias too so I don't want to share them with the rabbits but don't tell Auntie Karen or she will get mad. 

On Saturday we played in the yard again, it was so much fun.  I have my own pool at Auntie Karen's house and I can go in it whenever I want.  It even has water squirting out and I like to try to catch it.  I don't understand where it comes from but it's fun to try to catch the water in my mouth.  I also like to wash my toys in the pool and lay down in it when it gets hot. Lash doesn't like the pool, he wont come in it with me.

On Sunday I went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house, I was really excited when I saw Grandma Winnie.  It was a lot of fun at Auntie Karen's house but I like going to Grandma and Grandpa's house too.  Hmmmm I wonder when my moms are coming back.  I don't think they will recognize me, I think I have grown another 2 inches!

See what 4 months can do?  I'm going to be a big dog!

The Farm

OH MY GOD! You will not believe what I saw on Saturday night!  OK, my mom's and auntie Karen took me to a place with a huge yard and when we pulled up I could smell something was in the air.  I had to let out my big dog bark to let everyone know Raleigh is in the house! 

Anyway, mommy Tara took me out to meet these huge animals, I didn't know what they were, they did not look like anything I have ever seen before. They had long noses and bushy tails, only one was little but still bigger than me.  Mommy Tara said "look at the pony, Raleigh" so I guess they were ponies. They did not want to play so we just left them alone.  They sure were big! 

I did make some new friends, Soda and Cooper.  Soda was bigger n' me but could not catch me. Cooper was littler n' me, he was almost as cute as me.  I found a soccer ball and mommy Tara played ball with me and Cooper.  Cooper doesn't know how to chase the ball, he only chased me. He was very funny, jumping around and everything.  It was so much fun I did not want to leave.  I got to run around and splash in puddles.  I can't wait to go there again, maybe next time the ponies will play ball too!

Hi, my name is Raleigh and I am a yellow lab, this is my first time away from my birth mom. I am going to live with my mommy's Val and Tara, they're the best! It's December 2007 and it's really cold, I am so happy I have this nice warm fuzzy to keep me warm.
